Local and global Maass relations

We characterize the irreducible, admissible, spherical representations of GSp4(F ) (where F is a p-adic field) that occur in certain CAP representations in terms of relations satisfied by their spherical vector in a special Bessel model. These local relations are analogous to the Maass relations satisfied by the Fourier coefficients of Siegel modular forms of degree 2 in the image of the Saito-...

The Contraction Mapping Theorem and the Implicit and Inverse Function Theorems

denote the open ball of radius a centred on the origin in IR. If the function ~g : Ba → IR d obeys there is a constant G < 1 such that ‖~g(~x)− ~g(~y)‖ ≤ G ‖~x− ~y‖ for all ~x, ~y ∈ Ba (H1) ‖~g(~0)‖ < (1−G)a (H2) then the equation ~x = ~g(~x) has exactly one solution. Discussion of hypothesis (H1): Hypothesis (H1) is responsible for the word “Contraction” in the name of the theorem. Because G <...

Implicit Function Theorems for Nondifferentiable Mappings1

Sufficient conditions are given for a mapping to be γ -G inverse differentiable. Constrained implicit function theorems for γ -G inverse differentiable mappings are obtained, where the constraint is taken to be either a closed convex cone or a closed subset. A theorem without assuming the γ -G inverse differentiability in a finite-dimensional space is also presented.

From Global to Local Fluctuation Theorems

The Gallavotti—Cohen fluctuation theorem suggests a general symmetry in the fluctuations of the entropy production, a basic concept in the theory of irreversible processes, based on results in the theory of strongly chaotic maps. We study this symmetry for some standard models of nonequilibrium steady states. We give a general strategy to derive a local fluctuation theorem exploiting the Gibbsi...
